Summary

Performs routine cleaning of assigned areas using standard cleaning supplies and disinfectants to high standards of cleanliness and disinfecting as directed. Upon resident discharge, sanitizes room contents for a terminal clean. In Senior or Assisted Living settings, cleans apartments as assigned after resident move and/or following renovations to prep for new resident(s) ensuring to note maintenance needs, carpet staining/damage and reporting completed room with these notes to Housekeeping Supervision. All cleaning is to be performed following established procedures. Reports any resident's belongings left behind to Supervisor. Moves and/or relocates furniture, furnishings, and equipment upon resident room changes, discharge, or move out. Handles initial room setup and breakdown for meetings, banquets, and classes. Cares for hard surface floors sets up "Caution-Wet Floor" signs, dust mops, damp mops, according to established policies. Cares for carpet/upholstery: spot cleans soil on carpets, entry mats, runners, and upholstered furniture as needed. Ensures all assigned rooms or apartments are cleaned as scheduled; daily for LTC and weekly for Senior and Assisted Living. Picks up and removes trash in assigned areas. Completes cleaning assignments in a timely manner and in accordance with housekeeping procedures. Maintains department equipment in a clean, safe condition. Cleans and performs nominal maintenance on upright vacuum, work carts, and equipment; removes unsafe equipment from service. Meets safety and cleanliness guidelines 100% of the time. Cross trained on multiple floors/neighborhoods. Shows good communication with clinical and non-clinical staff to efficiently execute daily tasks in assigned areas. Communicates any changes in status of resident(s) to supervisor or clinical staff. May be assigned other duties as appropriate.

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Institutional housekeeping experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to demonstrate correct use of work-related chemicals, supplies, tools and equipment
  • Ability to collaborate with others in order to provide optimal customer service
  • Ability to lift and transport objects weighing up to 65lbs
  • Ability to stoop, bend, walk and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work from a ldder
  • Ability to push and move equipment and furniture
  • Manual dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands when working with required equipment
